TELOGEN EFFLUVIUM
Telogen effluvium is a form of diffuse (widespread, non-concentrated) hair loss on your scalp. You will probably notice more hairs coming out when you brush and style, in your shower drain, and perhaps on your pillow and clothes.
ALOPECIA AREATA
Alopecia areata (meaning ‘hair loss in areas’) is a condition that causes specific spots of baldness to appear randomly on your scalp. These are usually circular, and are often about the size of a coin, although they can be larger.
MALE & FEMALE PATTERN HAIR LOSS
Pattern hair loss can happen to both women and men at any age after puberty. This type of hair loss is also known as hair thinning, reduced hair volume, androgenic alopecia, and androgenic thinning
TRACTION ALOPECIA
Traction alopecia is a type of hair loss caused over time by constant pulling on hairs from their follicles.
SCARRING ALOPECIA
Scarring alopecia, also known as scarring hair loss or cicatricial alopecia, is a permanent form of hair loss, where hair follicles are gradually or suddenly replaced by scar tissue.
THYROID CONDITIONS
Thyroid conditions are one of the most under-diagnosed culprits of hair loss, hair thinning and reduced hair growth. The good news is, hair loss resulting from a problem with your thyroid gland is not permanent, and can be reversed using the appropriate treatment and medications.
TRICHOTILLOMANIA
Trichotillomania is a form of hair loss caused by an irresistible urge to pull out your hair, either from your scalp or any other part of your body.

RADIOTHERAPY AND YOUR HAIR
Radiotherapy, or radiation treatment, is a form of cancer treatment that works by directing high-energy rays at the site of a tumour, in order to destroy the cancer cells.
STRESS & HAIR LOSS
Stress can and often does result in hair loss due to a number of factors. One of the main reasons is that stress, through a convoluted route, can increase your body’s production of adrenaline. This can then be converted into cholesterol, which is capable of raising your body’s level...
HORMONAL CONTRACEPTIVES AND HAIR SHEDDING
Hormonal contraceptives (including birth control pills, coils, injections, patches and vaginal rings) work by adjusting the balance of hormones in your body. Because the growth cycle of your hair is influenced by hormones, your hair may be affected if you are using a hormonal contraceptive.
MEDICATION & HAIR LOSS
The most commonly overlooked reason for hair loss is the use of medications, drugs and also the overuse of vitamin and/or mineral supplements.
